Hello,
I'm trying to obtain a CI for diesel from coprocessing of tallow and diesel gas oil feed (hydrotreating) using GHGenius.
Am I able to model this directly, or is the only option to run the model separately for tallow HRD and Diesel and make some sort of estimate of overall carbon intensity?

Since most regulatory programs are looking for the CI of just the renewable component the way that most people model is is to use the HRD pathway and input the incremental hydrogen and energy requirements that result from the co-processing. Essentially you treat this as a standalone hydrotreater.
This works for hydrotreating co-processing but not co-processing through an FCC. That is a much more complex modelling challenge.

Thanks Don! Appreciate the response.
After obtaining the CI of the tallow HRD using only the incremental inputs, would it make sense to create an overall CI using the fractional amounts of each fuel on an energy basis?

Most regulators are only interested in the CI of the renewable component.
It is pretty straightforward to create the blend of diesel and the renewable diesel.
