Hello
I am modeling a case in AB, and I have a few questions. I really appreciate your thoughts on them:
1. in the elec emissions, how old are the GHG EFs for Canada and Alberta grids? can I updated them?
2. in row 69 of input, when I change "Carbon Sequestration for fuel production" to 1.. what does this mean in reality? does it assume that all generated carbon from burring alternative fuel will be captured by trees? - I am modeling hydrogen production from NG
3. In input tab, row 237 to 248, input parameters of alternative fuel are listed. I am modeling H2 production from NG, is there any other input/process data that I have to be aware of? where can I see yield and other process assumptions?
Many thanks
Hajar

The electricity information uses actual production data for the period 1995 to 2018. From 2019 to 2040, the information is based on the forecasts from the Canadian energy regulator. Depending on the year that is selected for modelling, the power grid is the forecast for that year.
Selecting 1 in row 69 activates the default values for Carbon Capture and Sequestration. This is not carbon capture by trees. It is carbon captured from the power generation and stored underground. There is only one location in Canada where this is being done, the Boundary Dam generating station is Saskatchewan.
The yield is a function of how much natural gas you input for your process. If you go to the Alt Fuel Prod sheet in column R, row 27 has the total energy in divided by the hydrogen produced. The inverse of this value is the yield.
Also on this sheet there is the option on putting other inputs into the system, if there are any.

Thanks Don for your prompt response.
Can I use "user identified" electricity grid?
Best Regards

The user grid is not connected to the hydrogen pathway. To use the user grid you have to change the formula in cell CN11 on the Upstream results sheet.
Look for the term 'Elec Emissions'!$B55 and change it to 'Elec Emissions'!$B56
Then the pathway will use the user defined grid.
