Gasoline from Natural Gas and CO2 was created by rockb
Hi, I am trying to model a project to produce gasoline from natural gas and carbon dioxide. I have been able to recreate most of the inputs but am getting an odd value from 'Equipment Emission Factor', Cell CI22 in GHGenius 5.02a.

The formula within this cell is as follows:

"=('Fuel Char'!C227*'Fuel Char'!C221-CI13*0.75-CI14*0.4286-CI11-CI18*'Misc Fuel'!$A$117-(Coprods!AO157+1000*'Fuel Char'!F100*'Fuel Char'!E100/'Fuel Char'!B100)/('Alt Fuel Prod'!H28*'Energy Use'!$C$61))*3.6641*'Misc Fuel'!A84*IF(SEQUESTRATION2,1-Sequestration!G19,1)"

My confusion lies in the line "-(Coprods!AO157+1000*'Fuel Char'!F100*'Fuel Char'!E100/'Fuel Char'!B100)". Could you please clarify why the fuel characteristics (carbon content of reformulated gasoline) are being deducted from the production emissions?

The model does a carbon balance around the system where the carbon in to the system in the NG less the carbon in the product must be emitted from the process.

However we did not anticipate that there would be carbon dioxide added to this process so this may produce an unusual result on this sheet. The CO2, if is added on the Alt Fuel Prod sheet will eventually be added to the system emissions.
