GHGenius,
How should a renewable diesel plant that removes glycerin from its pretreatment unit treat the glycerin? Should it include the glycerin as a co-product and include a higher feedrate and energy usage or disregard the glycerin and include the lower feedrate and energy usage.

The glycerine should be treated as a co-product. The system boundary for the RD unit should include the pretreatment unit so it is the raw feed that is the input and the pretreat energy should be included in the RD energy input.
