Hi Don,

I'm trying to model LH2 production in 5.02b. I have the electricity input modelled on the inputs sheet in V243 as per your guidance, but I'm also trying to account for the emissions from the nitrogen input to the liquefaction process. I'm looking at 2 scenarios; the first is where the N2 is generated on-site so I am assuming I can just add the electricity used for that to the value in V243. The second scenario is delivering the nitrogen via truck from off-site; this is where I'm not sure how to account for these emissions as there is no nitrogen in the "Transportation of Feedstocks" section. Would using the CO2 row (BC80) be the most applicable for compressed N2?

Please advise. Thank you!

For the first scenario you can model it as you describe if you know the electricity required.

There is an emission factor for LN on the alt fuel production sheet. This is in row 131 and the quantity of LN used in the pathway would be input in row 55 of the Alt Fuel Prod sheet. You can set the region of the LN production in row 131.

I think that the only way to model the transportation is to determine the liters of diesel fuel consumed per kg of LN and add that to cell D155. The energy for trucking CO2 on a per kg basis should be reasonably close to the energy requires for the LN.
