Beef Cattle Avoided Emissions Factor was created by rockb
Hi, are you able to provide the source or clarify how the avoided emissions factor for beef manure was determined?
Particularly, I am interested if this value applies to feedlots where the manure is contained within the pen or if the current factor is more representative of a beef cattle pasture. Any clarity on the factor and its underlying assumptions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The avoided emissions from manure (other cattle, poultry, dairy, and swine) are derived from the National GHG Inventory reports published by Canada and the US.
The values are average values from all management systems. For non dairy cattle the management systems were 5% liquid, 45% dry lot, 45% pasture, and 5 % other.
