Impact of Energy Source on Feedstock CI

This is an advanced use case that we recently made much easier in GHGenius 5.01. The main assumption that I'm going to be making is that we are only altering the GHG emissions of the fuel production stage. This is a fairly safe assumption to make.

To do this we'll be making use of the new User Defined Power grid, that exists alongside other use-specific grids and the generic regional grid. The main change is done on the Upstream Results HHV sheet, in cell AZ11. It normally looks like:

The bolded term is the one to change. It refers to the generic grid power. This is a cell that is heavily regionalized and heavily used, it pops up in most phases of most fuels. For this purpose it needs to be changed to refer to the user defined grid. Simply change the bolded 55 to 56 as below.

Once this change is made you can then change your user defined grid on the Power Gen sheet, in row 21. Try to keep it adding to 1.0, anything less will just put the remainder into "Other" which is a barely defined pathway with emissions a bit better than solar.
